Status Quo Of Circular Economy Of Waste Textiles

The Forum on "round table recycling of China spinning resources" was held in Shanghai.

With the theme of "zero abandonment of old clothes" and the way to realize it, the forum discussed the current situation and future development trend of the recycling and reuse of waste textiles in China from the perspective of government, associations, enterprises and the public, and released the first white paper on recycling of waste textiles in China.

Gao Yong, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation, said at the forum that the recycling and reuse of waste textiles is an important starting point for the textile industry to develop a recycling economy and create an ecological civilization. During the "13th Five-Year" period, the focus of resource conservation in the textile industry will be shifted from "waste" to "old" recycling.

China Textile Federation hopes to cover the ultimate goal, social status and system construction of the recycling and reuse of waste textiles through the theme of "zero abandonment and Realization of old clothes", so that all sectors of society can exert their strength to help achieve and realize the recycling and reuse of waste textiles in China.

In view of the relevant policies and system construction for the recovery and reuse of waste textiles, Lu Zheng, a recycling economy Department of the Ministry of Finance and development of the NDRC, said in his speech that "zero abandonment of old clothes" is the practice of zero waste concept in the textile industry. It is also the implementation of the strategic focus of circular economy, such as "building an eco industrial system, linking the fields of production and consumption, establishing the reuse and harmless disposal of waste resources," and so on.

In the speech, Cao Xuejun, director of textile department of the consumer goods industry division, emphasized the importance of technological research and development to carry out the reuse of waste textiles. The Comprehensive Utilization Department made a detailed introduction on the key points of the comprehensive utilization of waste textiles and the construction of the standard system.

Guan Aiguo, President of China Renewable Resources Recycling Association, made speeches on recycling and recycling of waste textiles in the field of recycling economy and recycling.

Then, around the theme of "zero abandonment of old clothes", the forum invited Yang Yinghong, general manager of Shanghai Yuanyuan Industrial Co., Ltd., and Nanjing Zhong Wei Xin in the "guest dialogue" session.

Zhao Likui, chairman of the Company Limited, Xia Weifeng, general manager of Ding Yuan (Hangzhou) Textile Technology Co., Ltd., Qian Jun, general manager of Ningbo Dafa Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. and Li Cheng, general manager of Wenzhou Tiancheng Textile Co., Ltd., respectively, discussed the topic of "recycling and sorting of waste textiles", "technology status and development direction of waste textiles", "recycling and reuse system of waste textiles" and other topics, and put forward a feasible development roadmap for the realization of "zero abandonment of old clothes".

The forum also published a research report on "zero abandonment of old clothes - 2014/2015 recycling and reuse of waste textiles in China". The report was compiled by the China Textile Industry Federation environmental protection and resource conservation promotion committee and the "low carbon and waste textiles recycling and reuse" research team of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology. It is the first white paper on the status quo of circular economy of waste textiles in China.
