In December 27, 2013, the Guangdong Leather Association held the sixth member congress and elected the Sixth Council. The Council consists of 95 members. Lin Da Zhou, chairman of Guangdong Wanlima Investment Industrial Co., Ltd. was elected president of Guangdong Leather Association. Wang Jianxin, former party secretary of Guangdong plastic and leather Industrial Corporation, was elected executive chairman. The Congress also elected 5 executive vice presidents and 33 vice presidents. The new Council put forward: the association has a lot of work to do in the future, and the task is also very arduous. The working face of the association will continue to expand, and the level of service will also continue to improve. We believe that under the leadership of the Sixth Council, with the joint efforts and support from all of us, the work of the association will become better and better.

Guo Jinlian, chairman of the new president and Wanlima Investment Industrial Co., Ltd., delivered a welcome speech. He spoke with the director of the registration and Management Office of the Guangdong provincial social organization administration. He fully affirmed the work and achievements of the association. He also believed that the leading enterprises in the industry should be able to understand and reflect the industry situation in a more timely manner, organize the enterprises to carry out professional activities of common needs, and help enterprises solve practical problems. This is an important symbol of the transformation of social organizations, and is in line with the direction and trend of the development of trade associations.

A plaque was presented to members, supervisors, Honorary Presidents, advisers and Secretariat members of the new Council of the association. Subsequently, the "friendly cooperation partners" plaque was issued to Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, Hongkong, Taiwan and other related associations, and a plaque was issued for the association's leather special committee, the shoe special committee and vice president.

A video clip showing the development and current situation and characteristics of the leather industry in Guangdong province was also presented in the 25 years since the establishment of the association. At the same time, it pointed out that in recent years, due to the slow recovery of the international consumer market, trade barriers, appreciation of the renminbi, rising cost of raw and auxiliary materials and labor, and increasing environmental pressure, the growth rate of leather industry in our province has slowed down. However, the original advantages of Guangdong leather industry are: solid manufacturing base, perfect industrial chain, good product reputation and strong comprehensive competitiveness. In order to develop and upgrade industries, it is imperative for enterprises to carry out transformation and upgrading of product structure, technical structure, enterprise organizational structure and industrial regional structure according to their own conditions and development needs, so as to adapt to the changing development situation and achieve new achievements. Facing the opportunities and challenges, we have full confidence in the future development. We believe that under the guidance of governments at all levels and relevant departments, under the concerted efforts of the provincial Leather Association, the leather shoes Association and the local associations and chambers of Commerce, and with the joint efforts of all the enterprises and staff in the industry, the leather industry in Guangdong will continue to innovate and develop, contributing to the steady development of Guangdong's economy and making China a leather power country.

Su Chaoying, director of the China Leather Association and director of the Department of industry and development of the Guangdong provincial economic and Information Committee, delivered a speech. The speech praised the contribution of Guangdong leather industry to the economic development of Guangdong and the progress of leather industry in China, and gave high hopes for the future development of Guangdong leather industry. At the same time, the efforts made by the Guangdong Leather Association in serving the government and service enterprises were recognized.
