Argentina

The Argentina government is trying to take footwear development planning as an example to find a way to avoid the collapse of the processing industry in the financial crisis.

The news was referred to in November 18th by the Secretary of Commerce, Guillermo Moreno, in a meeting with leather industry representatives.

Mr. Guillermo Moreno said that the government of Argentina will work out a set of detailed plans to save meat processing, leather making, leather goods and shoemaking industry as a model to help Argentina's other processing industries, such as textile, automobile and household appliances.

The government's idea is to realize the value of the leather industry chain through the cooperation of the leather industry, and use the leather produced in Argentina to produce shoes and leather products, especially the students' shoes, and sell them in the domestic market at a price not exceeding that of imported similar products.

The commerce minister said the government will provide a $150 million loan to ensure the implementation of the plan.
