Export Of Knitted Goods Azo Exceeding Standard Cheap Raw Materials

Since the newly opened knitted garments were opened in January 1, 2011, the Yiwu inspection and Quarantine Bureau has conducted targeted sampling tests according to the different requirements of exporting countries and regions.

The sampling results showed that the quality of the products in Yiwu area was better, but 11 batches of the 635 azobenzene samples failed.

The reasons leading to the unqualified azo test of export knitted products are as follows: the export knitted garment enterprises fail to make strict selection and management of suppliers, and often choose suppliers because of the tight delivery time. They can not strictly control the quality of raw materials. Because of the fierce competition, the price reduction of orders, the increase of wages and other factors reduce the profit margins of enterprises, and some factories purchase for profit.

Cheap raw materials

It leads to the emergence of unqualified situations. Export knitted apparel enterprises only attach importance to the appearance factors such as specifications and so on, do not attach importance to physical and chemical properties of products, and lack of related concepts, resulting in the emergence of unqualified situations.

After exposure to human skin, azo exceeding standard products can cause a variety of malignant diseases, absorption and carcinogenesis.

EU stipulates that azo dyes with concentrations of more than 30ppm of banned aromatic amines can not be used for direct contact with skin textiles.

In view of the above situation, the inspection and quarantine department recommends that export knitted garment enterprises should strictly screen suppliers, establish a sound supplier selection, management and assessment system, and strengthen product quality control from the source.

Enterprises should enhance their awareness of the legal system and quality, avoid small and big losses, and export knitted garment enterprises should strengthen their understanding of the testing standards of developed countries such as Europe and the United States, and strengthen the inspection of raw materials according to the requirements of export countries, so as to avoid the appearance of unqualified export products.
